Anyway Giro stage was good today. Not a boring first stage

It's also the same company that is trying to kill HBO, and doing a damn good job at it, while the CEO just gave himself a 50 million dollar salary, while losing billions.

So far, after two stages, I have been quite irritated at the chit chat from that crew. Get to the point already. But that hostess, whoever she is, is much easier to look at in those heels than Paul Burmeister flexing. And wonderful to hear from Jens Voigt on the back of the motorcycle.

Orla Chennouai, or something like that. She speaks about 6 languages and seems to actually know about cycling, so she's not just a pretty face to lure male viewers.

What's not to like? A smart, intelligent woman in that dress. Take that, Bobski.

Did the Max sports free preview thing end? I know I had watched one or two things with the sports module of Max before without issue. However, I tried to watch a Giro stage replay this morning and was not successful. Just gave me a content unavailable or similar error.

Whom are the announcers? Do you get to watch the breakaway as well?

I'm reasonably confident that the Max commentators are the same people who previously commentated for GCN+. I do miss a few things (like lower annual subscription prices, shorter daily recap shows, etc.), but I am thankful to still have streaming coverage of major races.

I, too, was glad to see it's on Max.

Agree the intro at the start of the broadcast of stage 1 went a little long, however I do enjoy listening to Robbie McEwan. The other three, meh. Liked hearing Sean Kelly, assume that was him during the race, and I like Jens, as well.

I'm sure it will be pay to play eventually, but maybe this first Giro will be free as an enticer. At least it's on a platform I have access to. Did not catch Sunday's stage, hopefully can watch some of Monday's this evening.

Are my eyes deceiving me or did I see the word "Polti" written on some jersey's?

Indeed you did, it's a Italian conti team
It's called Polti - Kometa
It's was founded and run by a couple of guys you may have heard of, Alberto Contodor and Ivan Basso

Haha , yeah I "vaguely" remember hearing those guy's names.

Saw that and thought wow, really, another Team Polti -- well, sort of. Team Polti Kometa, this time around. Maybe Virenque could be a technical advisor or something lol...

Sean Kelly, Rob Hatch, some Carlton Kirby, and in the studio and on air we've got Robbie McEwen, Dan Lloyd, and Adam Blythe - plus Orla Chennaoui in the studio only. Occasionally there's some Jensie.. and a few others - we get Matt Stevens for some too. It's 100% worth the cost of admission.

WRT any future subscription fee… if they do a monthly cycling add-on for $10 or something, great. If it’s bundled with all the other sports that HBO has and $30/minth? Meh. I’ll go back to bootleg Eurosport coverage.

Brilliant attack by Ganna but the Italian time trial specialist just couldn't hold it to clench stage 4.
