I was hesitant to post something like this, but you are asking for opinions. I agree with all of this. You already have black, and silver going on, two accent colors are just too much.

And this is way into personal preference......I have seen white cable housing look good as an accent, but most any other color seems like a distraction to me. Probably cause cables are generally messy. Best not to draw attention to them. Keep them black like Dog intended.

Mismatch, black in back, tan up front. Go crazy, upset the easily offended.

What if both were blue and pink stripes?

I like tan from the cockpit. Easier to see whether a tire is going low than all-black. From the side, I like the black better on that bike.

Bare Ti = black for continuing that industrial look
Painted = tan sidewalls for classic look

IMHO

The next set are in the drawer and they are black. I switched my '72 Bob Jackson to Conti GP5000 700Cx32 and DT Swiss wheels in the past year, and it is black paint with white panels, and mostly silver bits. With the black rims with the shiny silver brake track I think it would look better with tan walls.

Yes, I know the stem should be silver. Hey, we've already determined I'm in the Remedial Class of Bicycle Aesthetics.

Black & Tan

Gotta say Im feeling the black walls on this particular fit, but if you were to swap the saddle or handlebar wrap it could change. I had some black wall gravel king slicks on my rando bike and when they wore out, I was ready to get another set, but I found some tan walls on sale. Luckily by then, the once black newbaums bar tape had faded to brown and I had put on a brown handlebar bag and the tan walls look right at home.

Exactly.. black or tan is fine as long as the white labelling isn't so obnoxiously extensive.
