ah crap

I meant to PM him to see how his recovery was going b/c his stroke was similar to my Dad's in scope and areas affected. Another example of my long covid brain not working as it did.

This is very sad as it seemed like some recovery for him to enjoy typical activities, even if at a lower level, was possible. My dad only got two years before a second massive stroke hit him. I hope Dave's passing was peaceful

I think I only briefly interacted with him on here but read a lot of his posts over the years.

Sad to see this happen. Hoping he and his family are at peace. May his memory be a blessing.

Never had the pleasure to meet him, but exchanged messages long ago about his possible move to Bozeman. I just remember that he was a pleasant and well-spoken guy. RIP.

Bummer. I didn't ever meet him, but he helped keep this place running and had some valuable insight over the years. May he rest in peace.

Damn. A lot of reminders of how short & precious this life is lately. He was a class act.

Ugh, sorry to hear this. I met Dave and his wife on the phone a few years ago when they were considering buying an RV trailer and had some questions for me. We had a wonderful conversation and I could tell these were truly great people.

I offer my condolences to the family.

For those that didnt know, Dave was also quite active with Search & Rescue and was a competent mountaineer. From the few stories I have heard over the years there are probably a not insignificant group of people who owe Dave their life.

Dave's wife shared this photo, and I think it's OK to share here. Here he is climbing in the Tetons. He looks right at home here.
